Building Code of Australia (BCA) - Vol 2: Part 3.12
As an alternative to an energy "star rating", on some projects it is appropriate to undertake an assessment against the "deemed to satisfy" energy efficiency provisions of the Building Code.
These provisions provide specific minimum requirements for each individual building element.
These provisions provide far less flexibility for cost effective solutions than a Star rating, however there are situations where a deemed to satisfy report is appropriate, such as smaller residential alterations & additions projects.
